I’ve joined and applied for a few zines to do artwork for and it’s always so much fun to do! Usually, the stars align and there’s a brand new project barely a few days old asking for artists to contribute to a very specific thing I’m bonkers-obsessed over, and then everyone gets to make a super cool gallery. I highly recommend hopping on bluesky or other online social platforms and searching for projects with open applications and throwing your pencil into the ring!
Below, I’ve listed the projects that I’ve done some art for, alongside links to where you can support the head creators by downloading the full projects and seeing everyone’s art! So far, every full project is available for a free download on Itch.io through a digital pdf, and include full artworks and written fanfictions! I have another zine project in the works that should be releasing fairly soon, but it’s highly classified information…so be on the lookout!

This was such a fun project to work on! At the time the applications were coming out, I was just beginning to be a super big fan of the Zatch Bell manga, and this whole zine is centered around the fun little post-volume mini stories that take place at this huge café in the shape of Zatch’s head. I did a full spread and tried pouring as much technicolor as I could while also making it look like a children’s story book cover you could find. I also wanted to make it melon-themed after my favorite character, Victoreem, with tons of rainbow fruit in the foreground and background.

2026 is the Year of Eevee, and this project was so cool in how the concept was handled. Every artist that joined together in the server after applying had to randomly roll a number that would correspond to a specific eeveelution and a specific season, and each piece had to center around a very specific color palette pertaining to each season. I was really lucky to get my favorite eeveelution, Vaporeon, along with my favorite season, Autumn. I didn’t want to use the regular Autumn brown that was supplied, so I went with the brighter blue and greens of summer and spring, and decided to turn my seasonal piece into a spookier Halloween Tim Burton sort of vibe. When making my initial messy sketch, I sort of realized that it was just as messy as I wanted my lineart to look, so the actual lines of my little Vaporeon monster were just me reusing the draft for the final thing. This came out looking really cool and I think stands out a little bit among the other very warm and cozy drawings lmao
